One of the ultimate childrens' picture book, Animalia opened a world of wondrous possibilities. Introduced by an aunt in early childhood, Animalia is a spell-bounding article that etched itself firmly within the abyss of my memory. Apart from teaching children the A,B,Cs, it transports the individual to exotic locations and encounters beasts from every letter of the alphabeth. Rich and vibrant, the book is a kaleidoscope of decadent colors and animals, showcasing the author cum illustrator's boundless imagination.

Imagine then, my excitement of stumbling across a Graeme Base book pack, a collection of his best to savour and enjoy over a cup of coffee... or tea. To flip through the luscious pages and refresh the memory with song and rhyme, and rejoice in childhood reminiscence as I embark on a journey to a wonderland of visual sensory overload.

Craving Some Chocolate

Cocolat's waffles are to-die-for. Covered seductively in a blanket of chocolatey goodness topped with strawberries and a dollop of cream, it's heaven sent. The only drawback would be that it's always crowded, under-staffed and service is incredibly slow... that's the price you pay for great chocolate.

Recently recovered a bulkload of images and transferred them to my newly acquired macbook pro, unearthed some images that were too pretty not to display. Valentine's Day celebrated in Hoi An, Vietnam a year back. I've a lot of wonderful images stashed away that i'll gradually share. Good times.

recently felt that my images are looking very contrived. despite the buildings looking fantastic, my lack of interesting perspectives causes the image to look very boxed in and claustrophobic. perhaps i should have moved furthur back and captured more of the ground. unfortunately silhouettes of people littering the image drives me berserk... as revealed below

the image host i patronize seems to be washing out the color in my photos, don't understand why.

since acquiring baby oli (olympus e-500) my rendevous with photoshop has been reduced to a bear minimum. despite the great picture quality and eye-popping candy colors i can feel a strange sense of disappointment in the very pit of my stomach. it has rendered my photoshop abilities redundant. ironic isn't it? and i have yet to fully discover it's true capabilities. looks like i might be out of a job soon.
